Lizard of woes

Phil the salamander
Would philander
Through night and day
Twas lizard’s play

In the bushes
He’d get his rushes
His needs he’d pander
With lady salamanders

During the day
On rocks he’d lay
One day as he lay on his belly
His friends got Phil a telly

He also learnt the blues harp
Which he’d play in C sharp
Thus did he tour in Corsica
With his royal Phil harmonica

His growing ego
Was now larger than a gecko
And to gold shopping sprees
Would Phil agree

Soon he was constantly cribbing
He was a moody amphibian
His friends soon got sick of his whims
And plotted to get rid of him

So they promptly took the matter
To the local rattler
And thus the prima donna’s days grew ill
And the snake had his fill of Phil
